The Scrum Myth-Buster Series

Written by

Introduction

Agile ScrumAs a Certified Scrum Trainer and agile coach, I can say without a shadow of doubt that there is a rising agile tide that has pushed well past its early adopter space and is now settling comfortably in the mainstream.

These statistics published last year by VersionOne clearly indicate that this trend has led agile adoption to a level where it has no doubt reached the tipping point and is certainly no longer sitting on the early adopting fringes.

Now this ever increasing popularity is being driven primarily by the most heavily consumed of all the agile implementation frameworks, namely Scrum and this study further identified that of the 84% of organisations globally claiming that they have or are in the process of moving towards agility, about 75% are utilizing some form of Scrum or Scrum blend.

Manual testing

Written by

Manual TestingManual testing is the most common type of testing. Our specialists will manually execute test cases and will ensure that your application works correctly. To cover application functionality, Test Plan, Test Strategy and Test Cases will be created to test all feature of the application.
The types of quality assurance control are the following:

Full software coverage by functional testing

Our specialists begin testing according to the scenarios described in test cases. After passing all the test cases we analyze the results. When software checkout is complete we provide client with quality infographics and other materials

Regression testing

Re-testing after making changes in the test object.

Usability testing

In this type of testing we evaluate if the application has an intuitive interface and if it is easy to use. Also we conduct testing under the GuideLine terms and determine application ergonomics. For usability testing we use a special tool that rates this type of testing.

Testing of applications for mobile devices

In addition to functional testing our experts will check the application for compliance with all styles and AppStore requirements. AppStore has very high application requirements and as a rule clients do not pay attention to this and as a result, they get a lot of problems with the release of the product. Our experts are ready to help you on this issue. The company has more than 20 successful projects in the field of mobile development and testing.

Code reviewing by skilled developers to find hidden threats

Finding hidden threats is an important part of testing. Sometimes critical errors appear in the application months after release and it leads to negative consequences and negative reputation of the client. Our staff is specially engaged in searching and catching hidden threats to make a version of the application much more stable.
We offer to conduct a functional and regression testing on a modular (component) level. We divide the application into independent modules (components) that can be tested separately. This method gives additional benefits and in some cases reduces testing time. You get the result while the working process is in progress.
Our specialists check connections between modules (components) of the application (integration testing) and how they interact with the various parts of the system.
Technology evolves rapidly, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to monitor compatibility of the product with a different environment. We will help you determine your product compatibility with different systems, find incorrect use cases of system resources, find unintended user behavior scenarios and more.

Automation Test

Automation TestingGreater efficiency with Test Automation

To maintain the fault-free operation of complex IT systems, you need a specially tailored test management process. However, the made-to-measure setup and execution of manual tests is both time-consuming and cost-intensive. Automated software tests represent a less costly solution. Test runs that have to be performed in frequently recurring procedures are especially suitable for this purpose. Individual steps, such as pre- and post-processing should also be automated. The unbeatable advantage is that you make substantial cost savings and permanently reduce the burden on your specialist departments.

QTP TFS Integration

Written by

Qtp tfsIn Microsoft Visual Studio there is a Generic Test type that allows you to integrate with automation tools like QTP.  I have created a solution that allows you to use your existing QTP automation scripts within the Microsoft Visual Studio testing framework and here's a sample below.  The key part of this solution is transforming HP's QTP format to Microsoft’s Generic Test format so that you can publish the results to TFS.  The added benefit of this integration is that you can also use TFS for bug tracking and more.

First you need download the QTP VBS file and modify the paths This is the main script that will execute QTP and transform the results file. This file Navigate the result folders and Comincat with QTP and TFS

Our recruiters are individuals experienced and certified in software testing, some to Practitioner level, a significant advantage over traditional recruiters.  We take the time to understand our clients’ requirements and translate this into a tailored interview process in order to select the best candidates.  There is a certain mindset that makes a good tester, something our recruiters are always on the look-out for, along with the necessary skills and experience.

Over the years we have built up a significant database of testing professionals with all testing disciplines covered and can provide either permanent or contract testing resources for our clients.  Our standard recruitment process is as follows, but can be tailored for your needs:

  •  Obtain Job Specification and discuss the important elements with the client
  •  Search internal database and place adverts
  •  Short list candidates through initial telephone interview
  •  Formal interview to include written test where appropriate (especially automated tools)
  •  Send CVs to client
  •  Arrange interview with client
  •  Reference check / screening
  •  Make successful placement

We aim to send our clients a small number of CVs and due to the level of checks and interviews we carry out, it can take us slightly longer than traditional recruiters to get CVs to our clients.  However this quickly gives our clients the confidence that the individuals we send are a good fit for their requirements.
