BAD UI / UX IS A SPOILER
As we are explorers at Test Insane, we land on various web and mobile apps daily. We keep browsing and spend time in using these apps on our desktop computers and personal smartphones. Some apps have cluttered UI and not appealing while some apps lack UX. Either the performance of app gives a bad feeling at first time which may be a crash or else there is a form for registration in the mobile app which has lots of text fields and other form elements which helps user in abandoning the app and moving on to your competitors app as they have very simple form.
WHAT’S OUR APPROACH TO TEST?
User Emotions – Like we have various emoticons from a happy face to angry face, the users go through various emotions while using your software or an app. They may get happy, sad, angry, frustrated, irritated, abandon your software if the user experience element doesn’t satisfy their needs or expectations.
Watch your users – Its important to sit next to your users or capture a video of the screen while the user is using the software. Watching the video tells a lot about your users usage pattern, user behavior, what your users liked, what your users did not like, what was the navigation pattern and lot more crucial data which can help us to determine the efficiency of the design.
Improve UX from user feedback – We have seen customers collecting feedback through the form on the web-pages through their in-house tool or third-party service (Say OpinionLab). But, we have hardly seen the utilization of that feedback in testing. So, to add value to testing through feedback data we developed in-house tool which gives insights into questions like,
- What kind of problems users are reporting?
- What are the pros and cons of the design?
- How many users are speaking about abandoning the app and moving to the competitor?
- Are there more usability problems or functional problems that your users are speaking about?
Our in-house tool will be able to help us answer all of these questions no matter you have 100 feedbacks or millions of feedbacks which is very huge number.
